Devotional For The Week Of 9/10/18- Constantly Expecting

In chapter 2 of the book of Luke, there is a very devout, good man named Simeon, who was in the temple at the time Mary and Joseph were there. The Holy Spirit led him there because they were presenting Jesus to the Lord that day.
Simeon was constantly expecting the Messiah to come soon. A synonym for constantly is always. There is no room for doubt when you’re always expecting God to fulfill the promise He gave you.
The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen him—God’s anointed King. (Luke 2:26) Don’t let anyone cause you to doubt what God has revealed to you. If God promised you something, always be expectant of His promise, knowing that it will come to pass in due time.
When you’re expectant, the Holy Spirit will make sure you’re at the right place at the right time. The Holy Spirit compelled Him to go to the temple that day. God will prompt you to go where you need to go to obtain your blessing.
Simeon was able to die content because he saw the Messiah before he died, just like God promised.
