Devotional For The Week Of 3/5/18- Faith Over Circumstance

(Hebrews 11:1- What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.)

I saw a quote that said "Don't tell God about how big your mountain is, tell your mountain how big your God is." That's so relevant because many times we look at our circumstances instead of focusing on the one who can change our circumstances. Nothing can stop a person who has faith in God. For if you had faith even as small as a tiny mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would go far away. Nothing would be impossible. (Matthew 17:20) God has shown out for me time and time again and some advice that I always give people is "If He did it before, He'll do it again." When I was in the 6th grade I found out that I was almost blind in my right eye. We had to take a vision test at school and the lady told me my vision was so bad that she had to call my parents and let them know. We went from eye doctor to eye doctor and each person told me that there was nothing they could do, they told me that I would have to wear a patch over my right eye. After discussing the situation with the woman of God at the church we were going to at the time God said for me to start going to vision therapy and doing eye exercises. My parents prayed and prayed and I went to vision therapy for about a year. I'm happy to tell you that with prayer and those eye exercises, my eyesight got better (I wear glasses) and I never had to wear a patch over my right eye. Our faith in God was over our circumstances and we believed that He would make a way for me. The doctors can say one thing but that doesn't overrule what God says, when He says yes nobody can say no. We need to always remember that faith can move mountains. Our faith in God needs to be bigger than our circumstances.
