Devotional For The Week Of 1/22/18- Let God Lead

(James 4:7- So give yourselves humbly to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.)

I’ve already experienced life where I did what I wanted and the result of that was me dropping out of college and not being able to keep a job. (Psalm 51:5- But I was born a sinner, yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.) Not only are we born sinners, but we’re born selfish (wanting to please our flesh) and wanting to do things our own way. February 10, 2017 I made the decision to let God lead my life and it has changed tremendously. My purpose was revealed to me when I was a child, but I didn’t understand it until God took control of my life. In order to give your life to Christ, you have to be humble and understand how much you really need Him in it. God gives special blessings to the humble, but sets Himself up against those who are proud. (1 Peter 5:5) You’re wondering why you’re always giving in to temptation and falling into sin, it’s because you haven’t fully submitted to God. You can’t defeat sin with your own strength, you need God’s help. Be humble and go to God and let Him know what you need deliverance from, so He can help you. If you want to stop feeling like a failure, falling short, etc. let God lead. (1 Peter 5:6- If you will humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, in His good time He will lift you up.) That's what I did and my life has changed for the better.
