Devotional For The Week Of 1/8/18- Brand New Me

(2 Corinthians 5:17- When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!) When you get saved there’s always going to be people who want to bring up your past or think you’re acting brand new. The past is the past though and you’re not acting brand new, you are a brand new person. I saw a tweet last month that said “It kills me when niggas say "oh I guess she a Jesus girl now" Like is home girl suppose to stay a thot all her life?” and when I seen it I laughed. It’s so true though people don’t want to see you grow, they just want you to make the same mistakes all the time so that they have something to talk about. I did some things in my past that I’m not proud of, but my past no longer defines me. To be honest, I don’t regret it because now I can tell people about the mistakes I’ve made and pray that they don’t do the same things. I have a powerful testimony that is going to help a lot of people and I give no credit to myself because it’s all God. If God didn’t continue to call me back to Him I wouldn’t even be able to type this post right now. It’s the 2nd week of the new year and I really encourage everyone to let go of bad habits and allow God to mold you into the person He’s created you to be. (Colossians 2:12- For in baptism you see how your old, evil nature died with Him and was buried with Him; and then you came up out of death with Him into a new life because you trusted the Word of the mighty God who raised Christ from the dead.) Become a brand new you!
