Devotional For The Week Of 11/20/2017- O Give Thanks

Psalms 106:1- Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord ; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.

Giving thanks to God is so important, we were literally created to bring glory to His name. (Isaiah 43:7- All who claim me as their God will come, for I have made them for my glory; I created them.) Don’t only thank God when big thanks happen in your life, thank Him for the small things to. Getting to work safely, good health, a roof over your head, all that is worth being thankful for. God is just way too good and when I think about the things He’s brought me through sometimes I end up in tears. (Psalms 136:1- O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.) God deserves the glory every single day. We’re so quick to check our phones right when we wake up but what we should be doing is thanking God for another day. God doesn’t have to give you another day of life, everyday there’s always someone in the world who didn’t wake up in the morning. Spend some time with Him before you start your day and you’ll see how fulfilling your day is when you start it with God. Remember that if you won’t thank/praise God there’s always someone who will. One thing we have to remember is that God doesn’t need us, we need Him. ( Luke 19:38-40- God has given us a King!” they exulted. “Long live the King! Let all heaven rejoice! Glory to God in the highest heavens!” But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Sir, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” He replied, “If they keep quiet, the stones along the road will burst into cheers!”)

This is my daily prayer I say in the morning:

Thank you Jesus for waking me up to start a brand new day. Thank you that we (my family) are safe going to and from our destination and for your angels fighting all seen and unseen dangers regarding our life. (I plead the blood of Jesus over our jobs, our schools, our cars etc) Pleading the blood of Jesus over your stuff is so important because the devil is always trying to harm us. (Revelation 12:11- They defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony; for they did not love their lives but laid them down for Him.)
