Transparency is key. It doesn’t only help you, but helps others and encourages them to reach out and be transparent with what they’re going through. We’re all dealing with something even as a Christian, but the first step is to admit it and ask God for help. If we could do it on our own it would’ve already been done. Admitting how you’re feeling/where you’re at doesn’t mean that you’re weak. The first step to recovery is to recognize where you are and have a desire to recover.
Transparency within the body of Christ is so important. We need to be real and honest about what we’re going through and not pretend like our life is perfect. “Transparency is removing the mask and revealing who you really are; it is getting beyond the surface to what is really going on in your heart.” Keeping things bottled up only hurts you in the long run. (James 5:16- Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results.) A synonym for transparency is accountability. You NEED accountability during your Christian walk. You NEED people in your life that you can go to for prayer, express how you’re feeling, and that’ll tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.
Godly relationships are vital, we weren't meant to do life alone & we definitely weren't meant to do this Christian walk alone. The absence of godly relationships is the absence of accountability. We need those people in our life that keep us on the right track. Sometimes you just need that extra push and that’s why I’m grateful for all my friends who push me to do better.
Remember that there’s nothing wrong with transparency. Your transparency will help someone overcome what you’ve already overcome. Speak up and let it out.
