Devotional For The Week Of 11/26/18- Trust The Process

As Christians we walk by faith, not by sight and believe that what we hope for is up ahead even though we can’t see it. One day God told me “My people don’t know my word, so put it on a shirt”. So many thoughts were running through my head “How”, “with what money”, “when” etc. I kept putting it off because I had no idea how to start a business, but God kept impressing me to do it. Instead of focusing on God, I was focused on my circumstances and how everything would work out. After months of stalling, I finally got my business up and running and God supplied my every need.

If God gave you a vision to start something, He will equip you with what you need to fulfill it. Don’t sit on a million dollar idea because you’re hesitant on how everything will work out. The answer isn’t in you, it’s in God. (Jeremiah 32:27- Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?)

Don’t skip the process— a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end. The process is important for our development. It has its ups and downs, but it’s definitely worth it. We’ll never learn anything if everything is always good. Our “downs” are always learning lessons. Ask yourself: “What is God teaching me?” Don’t give up because things start to get hard or aren’t going your way. It’s easy to say “I trust God” but what about when you don’t understand what He’s doing, will you still trust Him? How we react to the process proves if we trust God or not.

Focus on positive things. Don’t worry about who doesn’t support you, appreciate the people who do. When you focus on the negative, your thoughts become negative and you start to believe them. “Believing in negative thoughts is the single greatest obstruction to success.” You can't live a positive life with a negative mindset. Positive thinking and negative thinking cannot operate at the same level in your mind, one needs to be the master and the one you feed it more will rule over the other. (Philippians 4:8- Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.)
