God’s Plan

(Ephesians 3:11- in just the way He had always planned it through Jesus Christ our Lord.) God always planned for Christ to be our redemption.

Ephesians 1:4-11

Sometimes when reading about the fall you wonder why God didn’t just warn Adam but he did.

(Genesis 2:16-17)

God was talking about physical death and spiritual death. Because of Adam’s sin it is appointed unto man once to physically die (Hebrews 9:27). Adam was kicked out of Eden where he was in close fellowship with God which was spiritual death; separation from God. God is omniscient; all-knowing. He has a divine purpose and does things on purpose based on what He knows. God’s foreknowledge ≠ His approval. Even though God knew that Adam would eat the fruit he told him not to eat, it doesn’t mean that he approved of what Adam did. Adam had a choice and he chose to disobey God. God didn’t warn Adam the way we’d expect him to. We’d expect God to tell Adam exactly how he was going to be tempted, but God didn’t mention it at all, He only gave him a command. (Isaiah 55:8-9- This plan of mine is not what you would work out, neither are my thoughts the same as yours! For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours, and my thoughts than yours.) Even though God knew that Adam would disobey Him, He always planned for Christ to be our redemption.

Romans 5:12,14-19

1 Cor 15:21-22

Isaiah 53

“Counted righteous before God” means to be in right standing with God. Because of what Christ did we now have the right to stand in God’s presence. When Adam sinned, sin entered the world and he could no longer be in God’s presence and because we’re all related to him we couldn’t be either. Jesus’ death on the cross restored our broken fellowship with Him.

Jesus’ death and resurrection wasn’t the end of God’s plan. Those who become apart of God’s family through what Jesus Christ did are now his coworkers. (1 Corinthians 3:9) we have a part to play in God’s Plan. (Mark 16:15- And then He told them, “You are to go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.) (Psalm 67:2- Send us around the world with the news of your saving power and your eternal plan for all mankind.) The Good News is God’s Plan to save mankind. Our job is to go preach the Good News and do great works. (John 14:12- “In solemn truth I tell you, anyone believing in me shall do the same miracles I have done, and even greater ones, because I am going to be with the Father.) (Ephesians 3:7- God has given me the wonderful privilege of telling everyone about this plan of His; and He has given me His power and special ability to do it well.)

What the enemy meant for evil, God meant it for good. The enemy had a plan but God’s Plan was better. “Father I want them with me”- (John 17:24) we were separated from God because of Adam’s sin but God sent Jesus because He wanted us with Him again.
