1. What’s 1 example of a good way for us to represent God?
A brand ambassador is a person, especially a celebrity, who is paid to endorse or promote a particular company's products or services. (2 Corinthians 5:20- We are Christ’s ambassadors. God is using us to speak to you: we beg you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, receive the love He offers you—be reconciled to God.) Just like companies have people who represent their brand, God has Christians who represent Him. As His ambassadors we are supposed to bring glory to His name. When celebrities make the brand look bad there are consequences such as getting dropped from the brand.
2 Samuel 11
2 Samuel 12:1-23
What David did made God look bad, he gave people an opportunity to despise and blaspheme Him and there were consequences for his actions.
2. What does the saying “what would Jesus do” mean to you?
We should always make sure that God is pleased with what we’re doing. The saying “what would Jesus do” seems cliche but it actually helps us be better Christians. (Ephesians 5:1- Follow God’s example in everything you do just as a much loved child imitates his father.) Think back to when you were a kid, you wanted to be just like you’re parents. You wore their clothes, you wanted to go everywhere with them and you just wanted to be around them. This is the same way that we are to imitate God. Jesus is the best role model that we will ever have. (2 Corinthians 5:21- For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.) Jesus lived the same life we’re living now and didn’t sin once. His life encourages us to continue being righteous knowing that He was tempted and didn’t fall short just like we’re tempted now. One of our daily prayers should be for God’s will to be done in our life and that the Holy Spirit guides us. When we’re led by the Holy Spirit we’re following God’s example.
3. What does being a Christian mean to you?
Being a Christian to me means living like Christ did. It’s not just about saying that we’re Christians, it’s about proving it with our actions.
1 John 2:3-6
Jesus let us know many times not to follow the example of the Pharisees because they honored God with their mouths, but their hearts were far from Him.
This is just a reminder that once we give our lives to Christ we represent Him. We need to make sure that we’re promoting love and bringing people closer to God. Don’t just make sure your outside looks good, remember that God looks at our heart and motives.
