God tells us to do things all the time. Sometime it's things we don't want to do so we act like He didn't say it, ignore Him, argue with Him, and we even ignore certain things in the Bible because we want to do our own thing.
So I want to give you guys an example: So after I got saved the Holy Spirit convicted me about changing my Twitter profile picture because what I was wearing was skin tight and revealing too much and to delete some pictures off my social media. To be convicted is convinced of sin or error, when God deals with you about something you shouldn't be doing. So I deleted some pictures off of Instagram and said okay this is good even though I knew it wasn't. So the Holy Spirit was dealing with me for like a month because I still never changed my profile picture. I kept telling Him I'd change it when I took a new picture. So one morning I get this super long Direct Message on Twitter from a sister in Christ. She basically told me "hey I'm not here to offend you but as Christians we must always represent Christ. She told me that people are always looking to find fault in us so they can talk about us, that I can cause people to stumble or lust after me and it's wrong to make people sin" that God had dealt with her with the same exact thing so she just wanted to let me know. Mind you this is at 4 in the morning so I was like OMG wow God was like if you're not gonna listen to me I'll just send someone else to tell you the SAME exact thing. So I told her thank you I appreciated it. I repented right away because I was ignoring my convictions from God and I knew better. I deleted endless pictures off social media that I should've been deleted when God first said something and I changed my profile picture.
God gave Jonah an order to warn Nineveh, he refused and ended up swallowed by a fish.
They all had orders to flee but Lot's wife turned around and turned into a pillar of salt. A lot of times there's a price to pay when it comes down to obeying God but it's always worth it even when it doesn't feel like it.
Even though God is the reason for what they have many rich people are prideful and it's hard for them to deny themselves and follow Christ. Always remember that whatever you remove from your life in order to follow Christ the Lord will replace it.
So when God tells you to something you better do it! There are consequences when we don't obey God. Many people don't want to obey God and I used to be one of them. Many people find it hard to deny themselves and follow Christ. People want to do whatever they want, continue to live in sin, and continue to not believe in God, but the Bible says people will eat the bitter fruit of having their own way.
We are not our own God paid for us with a price. (1 Corinthians 6:20- For God has bought you with a great price. So use every part of your body to give glory back to God because He owns it.)
People find it hard to obey God so they make excuses for their sin. They like to use Romans 3:23- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. This is true though we all have sinned nobody was perfect but Jesus, but God doesn't want us to keep on sinning because the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23- for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.) So yes, God has mercy on us, but we must not abuse His mercy because Romans 6:23 still stands and it will never change.
is there anything you're doing in your life that's causing you to disobey God? You don't want it to cost you, you don't want to eat the bitter fruit of having your own way.
