What does salvation & being saved mean to you?
In order to trust in God we must first have to believe Him. In order to believe in something we must have faith. How do we get faith?
Hebrews 11:6 - You can never please God without faith, without depending on him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for him. God has told us without faith it is impossible to please Him. But He also told us how to get faith. God has provided the way whereby everyone can have faith.
Ephesians 2:8- Because of his kindness, you have been saved through trusting Christ. And even trusting is not of yourselves; it too is a gift from God.” So how do you get faith to be saved?
Romans 10:8-10-For salvation that comes from trusting Christ—which is what we preach—is already within easy reach of each of us; in fact, it is as near as our own hearts and mouths. 9 For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and believe in your own heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10. For it is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation.
Romans 10:13-14-Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. But how shall they ask him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
10:17-Yet faith comes from listening to this Good News—the Good News about Christ. So trusting in God is the salvation of our souls. We believe that His Son is Jesus Christ that He sent to die on the cross for our sins & rose again. We believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior and by accepting Him we believe that we can be saved. There are people that ask you “Well how do you know that you’re saved?” It’s because you trust and believe that Jesus is the only way to eternal life in heaven with the Father, obey Him and do His will for your life.
John 3:16- For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 14:6- Jesus told him, “I am the Way—yes, and the Truth and the Life. No one can get to the Father except by means of me. You know you’re saved by that sense of freedom you feel after giving your life to God and obeying Him.
