He Is Able

God has many names such as Healer, Provider and Deliverer and for this Bible Study lesson I want to talk about how He heals, provides and delivers. I saw this tweet that said There is a cure for cancer - His Name is Jesus
There is a cure for HIV/AIDS - His Name is Jesus
There is a cure for Lupus - His Name is Jesus
There is a cure for Diabetes - His Name is Jesus and people were really upset about it. When you know people who have died from sickness I understand that it can be hard to believe that God heals. Coming from someone who was sick with a disease that couldn’t be cured, I know that God is a healer. Nobody but me felt what I felt when I was sick, only God knew how I really felt. If God can heal me, He can heal anyone. It’s interesting because when I got sick last year I wasn’t saved and when I found out that it didn’t go away I was devastated. Of course I’ve heard stories about people being sick and it being incurable but when it happened to me I just couldn’t believe it. I talked to my dad and he told me that people get sick all the time and the doctor says one thing, but God says another. I literally went to God and was like “Lord I know you’re a healer and I don’t want to be sick like this, please heal me.” God has healed someone in my family before from cancer and I just knew that He would heal me. I did get healed and a couple of weeks after that I gave my life to Christ. Sexual sin was the reason I got sick but I truly believe that had to happen because God wanted me to turn to Him, I was running away for too long. I know people will think so if we prayed and they still died you’re saying that I didn’t have enough faith? No, that’s not what I’m saying. A friend explained it this way: We need to stop using the excuse of saying God doesn't always heal because we experienced a loss of a loved one while everyone was praying. It is arrogant and self-righteous to exalt the experience of losing someone close above God's actual will. Also, Praying does not have a 100% attach rate to believing. You can pray simply just wanting the opposite of an undesirable outcome....but not actually believing that undesirable outcome is not going to take place. Another friend said Just because we or someone we know didn’t see healing does not mean that God isn’t a Healer. God Is Who He Is regardless of what we see or don’t see. He was before us and He will be the same after us. Our experiences don’t determine who God Is or what He can or will do. He does. Of course nobody wants to hear that it was God’s Will when a person dies, but we don’t know what’s going on in the spiritual world. It could’ve been God’s Will and time for them to go to Heaven, it could’ve been the devil stealing a soul and it very well could’ve been the person didn’t have enough faith to be healed. Sometimes we need to just put aside our carnal thinking and look at it from the spiritual aspect.
Mark 9:14-27
Anything is possible if you have faith. A couple of months ago the pastor at the church I was attending went over this and said that our problem is “if” He said that “if” is valley talk, it’s not mountain talk and that many times when we have a mountain before us we end up worshipping it instead of God. He told us to stop going to God with an “if” “If The Lord heals me” or “If the Lord will make a way” We need to have authority to stand up to the “if” in our life. Replace that “if” with when.

I can give example after example of times that God has provided in my life. One example is my mom had passed out when she was pregnant with me and fell on her stomach. Thankfully God provided and nothing happened to me and God still gave me life.
Exodus 16
Deuteronomy 8

A lot of people think you need to fix yourself or be perfect before they come to Christ but if we were perfect we wouldn’t need salvation. There’s so many things we’re dealing with that we need deliverance from. Alcohol, sex before marriage are a lot of the main things that people talk about but what about idolatry, pride etc. It’s important for us to submit to God because if we don’t humbly go to Him for help, we’ll always fail because we can’t defeat sin with our own strength. (James 4:7- So give yourselves humbly to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.) (1 John 4:4- Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world.) Jesus can deliver us from anything and it’s easy to get delivered but we must stay delivered. When we get saved we’re now sons of God and Christ lives in us.
Romans 6:14-22
God will work on us but only if we allow Him to. We can say "God I need deliverance" but we also have to walk in that deliverance and when we get delivered we need to stay delivered.
Matthew 12:43-45
(Galatians 5:1- It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].) Any time I need deliverance I ask God to deliver me from whatever I’m struggling with and ask Him to help me no longer desire to do it.
Deliverance means to be rescued or set free which also means freedom from those who have captured you. There’s been many times when God delivered His people from those who wanted to harm them.
Daniel 3
(Daniel 3:16-18- Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not worried about what will happen to us. If we are thrown into the flaming furnace, our God is able to deliver us; and he will deliver us out of your hand, Your Majesty. But if He doesn’t, please understand, sir, that even then we will never under any circumstance serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have erected.” What I liked about them is that they said “and if He doesn’t” meaning that they know that what God wants to do He will do. God doesn’t owe us anything. Sometimes as Christians we feel like we’re entitled to certain things and we put that above God’s will. Instead of praying for what you want, pray for God’s will, you never know how He’s gonna use that situation you’re in to help someone. God’s Will was for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to be delivered from the fiery furnace and even if they weren’t they still weren’t gonna bow down which showed their love for God. Either outcome shows how much they love God and them being delivered shows that God is a Deliverer and it even made Nebuchadnezzar worship God. Earlier we talked about healing and the question that came to mind is “if you were sick and God didn’t heal you would you still serve Him? They said, “and if He doesn’t we will never serve your gods” and that’s what faith is all about. It’s so easy to have faith when things are going good but when your back is against the wall will you still have faith?
(Psalms 68:20- He frees us! He rescues us from death.)
Nothing is too hard for God. Just because He hasn’t done it personally in your life doesn’t mean that He’s not able. The Bible says blessed are those who believe even though they haven’t seen, that’s what faith is.
Jeremiah 32
Nothing is too hard for God. He is able. Even if it hasn’t happened personally to you, there are millions of stories where God has healed, provided for and delivered someone.
