Faith Not Unbelief

We can never please God without faith. Believing and faith go hand in hand. (Mark 11:24- Listen to me! You can pray for anything, and if you believe, you have it; it’s yours!) So what's the opposite of believing? Unbelief. Unbelief is an absence of faith. And what is similar to unbelief? Doubt, it is to believe that something may not be true or is unlikely. There are many stories in the Bible that show that God isn't pleased when people doubt Him.

Luke 1

So because Zacharias didn't believe, he couldn't talk. We should always remember never to doubt God even when things don't make sense. Nothing is impossible for God. (Matthew 19:26- Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, no one. But with God, everything is possible.”) Even when it comes down to our prayers we should never doubt God, He never answers prayers filled with doubt.

James 1:5-8

Another group who didn't really trust in God were the Israelites, they just complained instead of believing that the same God who brought them out of it would bring them to their next destination. Miracle after miracle shown right before their eyes to show that God is for them. (Romans 8:31-What can we ever say to such wonderful things as these? If God is on our side, who can ever be against us?)

Exodus 12

Exodus 13

Exodus 16

Exodus 17

Psalms 106

(Hebrews 11:1-What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.) Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turnt out for the best. It's funny how we always talk about the Israelites and say they're this and that and they didn't trust in God and have faith but there are many times we start to get discouraged. Sometimes we lose faith, we stop trusting in the Lord and we lose hope but we should always remember that God will bring us through it. Whatever the Israelites neeed God provided and He even provided more than needed. (Ephesians 3:20- Now glory be to God, who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.)

During this season do you feel like giving up? Is trusting God hard at times? Trust me I get it sometimes what God is doing in your life just doesn't make sense but remember He knows our future more than we do. He already knows what's ahead so have faith and trust Him.
