Be Thankful

So many times we go on with our day without even thanking God. He woke you up this morning, your body functions properly, you get to celebrate Thanksgiving with your family tomorrow. There are people who didn’t wake up this morning, who are sick in their body, who don’t get to celebrate Thanksgiving with their family. We just have so much to be thankful for. One thing I’m so thankful is my salvation. God didn’t have to send Jesus to die for our sins, but He did and now I’m able to tell others so they can be saved too.

(Colossians 3:15-17- Let the peace of heart that comes from Christ be always present in your hearts and lives, for this is your responsibility and privilege as members of his body. And always be thankful. Remember what Christ taught, and let His words enrich your lives and make you wise; teach them to each other and sing them out in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing to the Lord with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, and come with Him into the presence of God the Father to give Him your thanks.)

1 Samuel 1

There are so many women in the Bible who were barren. As a woman not being able to have a child is dreadful. Hannah prayed and told God if He gave her a child she would give Him back to Him. Hannah could’ve changed her mind when she got pregnant, but she was thankful to have a child.

1 Samuel 2:1-11

She said “How I rejoice in the Lord!” Rejoice means to show great joy or delight meaning she was happy.

Humility is so important. When I’m praying I always pray that I remain humble and never think I got to where I am by my own strength.

Zechariah 4:1-7

Everyday we should thank God for His mercy because it’s only by His grace alone that we’re even alive right now. The Golden lampstand is God and we’re the lamps, the olive oil is God’s power and strength that flows into us.

1 Samuel 17

David knew that when he killed those lions or bears that I️t wasn’t by his strength, he knew I️t was the Lord that saved him. The Lord who saved me from the claws and teeth of the lion and the bear will save me from this Philistine! (1 Samuel 17:37) David and Goliath is one of the Bible stories that most of us learn as kids. It’s like “wow a kid killed a giant” but it’s really like “wow with God’s strength a kid was able to kill a giant. God was able to prove a point to the Philistines and let them know that the Lord doesn’t depend on weapons to fulfill His plan, He works without regard to human means.

I realized that giving thanks also means that you show your gratitude by helping others. God doesn’t bless you only for it to benefit you, but He blesses us so that we can bless others. What good is your salvation if you don’t use it to help others?

James 2:14-18

Matthew 25:35-46

Always remember to be thankful, whether it’s a little or big accomplishment make sure you thank God. Remain humble, so that you never get bigheaded and think you got where you are on your own. God’s grace is the reason we’re alive today, it’s the reason we’re saved and to anyone who isn’t choose today to give your life to Christ.
