You can’t cry about struggling with abstinence, porn & masturbation when everything you watch and listen to is sexually explicit. It’s not every time “The devil is tempting me” sometimes it’s “I made a stupid decision.” When you put yourself in a position to be tempted don’t be surprised when you actually give in to the temptation. You think you can handle these triggers, but you can’t.
If you’re a Christian, you’re an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) and you should be a good representation of Him. Your lifestyle should reflect Him. Reflect is to to make manifest or apparent: to show. When people see you, they should see Christ.
I was fired from my job in January. Although I was buckling under the obscene amount of pressure of the job, I was still devastated to be fired - especially behind a client's ill intentions. Amidst the devastation, I could clearly hear God speaking confirming words over me that it was time to stop trying to stuff myself into safe life and career paths. Telling me it was time to throw my whole self in the direction He'd been calling me since childhood. Timing was perfect. The weight of that job was lifted. My days were free. So, I started taking classes. I started asking questions. I traveled to events to learn. I resolved not to go back to what was comfortable/familiar.
The term “backslide” refers to those who have been near to God, but have allowed sin to take them away from Him.
Some examples of backsliding are:
You no longer desire to pray and read the Bible. It becomes a chore instead of something that you want to do.
You ignore convictions
You no longer feel bad about sinning.
I don’t think there’s any Christian that exists whose faith has never wavered. Sometimes we just have a hard time believing what God said is going to come to pass when we look at our circumstances. The great thing about the Bible is there is story after story of people that God promised things to (that humanly speaking couldn’t come to pass), but with God all things are possible.
I used to be ashamed, ashamed of what people would think of me when I told them I was sick, so I never told them. It’s because I was more than just sick, I had a sexually transmitted disease. To be honest, no one ever thinks they’ll get an STD. We see the commercials about getting tested, but we never actually think it’ll happen to us. Some people get STDs like Chlamydia and Gonorrhea that are curable, but what happens when you get one that has no cure. Unfortunately, I was about to find out.
I’ve always had a passion for reading, but as I got older it faded away and I put it on the back burner. When I got saved I started reading my Bible again and decided to make use of all the Christian books my parents have. It has been very helpful to my walk with God.
“Out with the old and in with the new” is a common phrase stated by many people. It refers to leaving old things or ideas behind and starting fresh with new things or ideas. People usually say this at the beginning of a new year or at the beginning of something new.
From the beginning, God told us not to put any other god before Him. Exodus 20:3 says, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." The gods He’s referring to are anything that we put in His place. It becomes an idol in our lives, a person or thing that is greatly admired, loved or revered. It’s fine to love someone or something, but when you love it more than you love God, that’s when it becomes a problem. When we start idolizing something, God is no longer first in our lives.
I thought my first relationship was everything. My boyfriend and I were shacking up, having premarital sex, bonding over getting high--you know, “relationship goals.” I was comfortable, comfortable because I had someone, comfortable because I loved him and he loved me. Then I realized, the love God and I had for each other was much different. It didn’t encourage comfort, the easy way out.
As the bride of Christ you were meant to be holier than the rest. The "Ekklesia" was what you were first known as. Now you're just known as the church. A place of worship, where the Holy Spirit freely roams around like a welcomed guest. You could feel its presence as people from different regions and diverse tongues came to this place. The city on the hill. There was no safer haven across the seven seas. The term "turn up" originated there for the worship of our savior shook the place.
I can’t begin to express how much I’ve lived by the statement, God Is My CEO, because He truly is. For those who don’t know me, my name is Kelsei LeAnn and I’m the CEO and founder of Kelsei LeAnn Studio which is a graphic design, website design, and digital marketing studio. Being a business owner is not easy, but the transition from side hustle to full-time business owner is one for the books.
According to doctor’s anxiety disorder is a mental health disorder characterized by feelings of worry, anxiety, or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one's daily activities. Anxiety is not just a mental health disorder, it’s a spiritual issue. Anxiety is what happens when you don’t put your trust in God.
I told myself that I would finally make this blog when I felt I was ready and over the situation. This was actually supposed to be my second blog post but I wasn't ready at the time and it took months but I'm finally ready. So for me it was different because me and my ex were on good terms when we broke up and there was no hard feelings. I think it hurt so much because it was my first real relationship and we were each other's first love.
I'm learning that Jesus is truly all I need, if I want to be successful I must follow His lead. I'm learning that once God calls us our mind has to be set on the Kingdom and not what doesn't concern Him. (Colossians 3:2- Let heaven fill your thoughts; don’t spend your time worrying about things down here.) I'm learning that life doesn't revolve around me and that my comfort, my desires, my dreams and my plans aren't important to God, but me doing His will is. I'm learning to always check my heart and my motives. I may think I'm doing right but is the Lord convinced? I'm learning to stay humble because if it wasn't for God I wouldn't even be alive right now.
If you google sleep paralysis you'd just think it was some type of disorder and that's what the devil wants you to think but it's not. Sleep paralysis is an attack from the enemy, not a disorder, also known as "the witch riding your back". When it happens you can't move or talk and it's because an evil spirit is on you keeping you from doing so. This world is more spiritual than it is natural. Just like angels are real so are evil spirits and demons. Whenever you have sleep paralysis just keep saying Jesus in your head until you're able to move. Something about the name JESUS that makes Satan and his evil spirits RUN.
When we have a problem and don't know what to do, we talk to God for the answer; and believe that He will answer us. When one prays; they must first believe that God hears them; You don't have to say big words or long prayers, just speak your heart. Just like you may tell your best friend everything, God wants to hear what you are going through, what you might be worrying about, or just wants to hear your voice.
Anyone can confess with their mouth that they're a Christian, but the Bible says if we don't do what God tells us to we're a liar. (1 John 2:4-6- Someone may say, “I am a Christian; I am on my way to heaven; I belong to Christ.” But if he doesn’t do what Christ tells him to, he is a liar. But those who do what Christ tells them to will learn to love God more and more. That is the way to know whether or not you are a Christian. Anyone who says he is a Christian should live as Christ did.) A lot of people go around saying "I love God" and many actually think they do, but how can anyone truly love God and enjoy sinning. How can anyone say they love God, but when it's time to repent and turn from sin they get mad?
